They make this insert using the same heavy-duty black rubber as their other Simplex mallets. They also include a 2-3/8-inch (60-millimeter), non-marring TPE insert. A cast steel housing holds this head together, making it incredibly durable. Halder finishes this 3-1/2-pound mallet with a replaceable 16-inch hickory handle.
